Description/Taste
The Scarlet Runner bean has a long, green bean type pod that contains medium-sized beans. Dried Scarlet Runner beans are purple with black streak-like striations and patches. They have a mild flavor that pairs well with dried chile peppers. Dried and shelled Scarlet Runner beans can be cooked like Pinto beans and are great additions to soups and stews.
