Description/Taste
Gouda cheese is Holland’s most notable cheese and has a mild, nutty flavor. It is named after the town Gouda, in the Netherlands and was the center of local cheese trade for hundreds of years. Similar to Edam cheese, Gouda is a semi-soft cheese with an orange color that is produced from cow’s milk. Gouda’s nutty flavor allows it to pair well with red wines, beers and dark breads.
