Description/Taste
The Bay leaf is botanically known as Laurus nobilis and is the leaf from a perennial shrub. It is sometimes referred to as "Sweet laurel, Apollo's Bay leaf, Roman laurel or Indian Bay." The Bay leaf is dried, in whole form and is spear like in shape. The Bay leaf's flavor is described as being herbaceous and earthy.
