Bautista Organic Farms is a multi-generational family farm in Mecca, California, known for its unique varieties of fresh organic dates. The date palm farm consists of over 1,000 palms spread across 14 acres near the Salton Sea in the Southern California Desert. The trees are hand pollinated to increase yield and hand-picked in the hot August heat. Khadrawy dates are a small to medium-sized variety with a stout oval shape. They have thick golden-red flesh surrounding a single seed and are known for their extra gooey yet chewy texture. Khadrawy dates have a rich caramel flavor, though slightly less sweet than the Medjool. Their thin papery skin tends to dry out, so keep them tightly wrapped and refrigerated in an airtight container. Bautista Organic Farm's Khadrawy dates contain pits.
