Girl and Dug Farms is a 60-acre hydroponic, greenhouse-based farming operation located in San Marcos, California. Girl and Dug Farms' hydroponic setup requires to grow a wide array of produce and vegetables that may otherwise not thrive in the local growing conditions. Girl and Dug Farms' New Zealand spinach has fuzzy, triangular leaves. New Zealand spinach is occasionally referred to as "ice plant" due to its succulent like resemblance. Its flavor is very similar to common spinach when young and is available during the late summer months.
