Shaohsing Cooking Wine is a Chinese rice wine developed in Shaoxing, China. The wine, which is not intended for drinking, has a very high alcohol content and is mixed with salt to create a rich flavor when added to a variety of recipes including broths, stir-fry, and sauces. Shaohsing wine is the preferred rice cooking wine for Chinese cuisine.
