Description/Taste
Evaporated milk comes in a can and is milk that has 60% of the water removed. Evaporated milk has the addition of vitamin D that has been added to enhance its nutritional value. This milk is described as having a flavor similar to caramel with a creamy texture. Evaporated milk is best used for custards and any other dishes that call for a smooth texture. First patented in 1856, condensed milk played an important role in providing nutrition to Civil War soldiers.
