Description/Taste
Condensed milk comes in a can and is milk that has had some of the water removed. Also known as "sweet condensed milk," condensed milk is made from whole milk and has a high sugar content of 40-45% with only 40% of the original amount of water. First patented in 1856, condensed milk played an important role in providing nutrition to Civil War soldiers. This milk has a sweet flavor and is often used in baked goods, desserts and even in beverages in the place of cream.
