Description/Taste
Chili peppers which originated in the Americas is the fruit of the plant genus Capsicum and have been cultivated for thousands of years. Chili pepper is used as a spice after being dried, which allows its flavor to be preserved for long periods of time. The pods of the chili peppers that are technically classified as berries are often used in the spice mix. Crushed chili peppers are used in cuisines throughout the world and are important in sauces like curry, salsas and marinades.
