Sweet glutinous rice is also known as "Sticky rice" and came come in either short or long grain varieties. The long grain variety is most popular in Thailand while the shorter variety is consumed greatly in Chinese and Japanese cuisine. This rice is characterized by its high starch content, which provides its sticky texture.
