Description/Taste
Short, stubby and quite plump, the Hua Moa banana is actually a plantain and a cousin to the common banana. Having a thick trunk, this banana plant produces rich dark green foliage and can reach a height of fourteen feet. The fat fruit can grow to be three inches in diameter and ten inches in length. The Hua Moa is frequently called a vegetable because it is often fried, steamed or boiled and served as a vegetable. Mostly fried as a plantain, this banana is very good eaten fresh after it fully ripens.
