Description/Taste
The Cashew nut comes from a small evergreen tree from the flowering plant Anacardiaceae. It is native to northeastern Brazil, India and other parts of South America. The real fruit of the Cashew tree is oval and pear-shaped. The Cashew is found growing at the end of the accessory fruit, known as the cashew apple. Technically, the Cashew is a seed not a nut, because it develops first as a drupe and then the peduncle expands into the cashew apple. Cashews offer a sweet and natural taste.
