Description/Taste
Red Swiss chard has a similar appearance to Green Swiss chard, but differs in the bright red stalks and crimson colored leaves. The leaves of the Red Swiss chard have wrinkled edges, thin red veins running through the leaf and can range from an overall dark to bright green color. Even though the stalk is inedible, the leaves of the Red Swiss chard offers a mild green flavor.

Red Swiss chard is available year-round in mild climates and throughout the summer and early fall in temperate zones.
