Carrots - Baby - Cultivation
Baby carrots are the immature roots of regular carrots that have been pulled from the ground prematurely or are a specialty cultivar that has been bred to only reach 7-10 centimeters in length. Baby carrots are a cool weathered root that requires full sun and well-draining, rich, sandy loam soil. They do not need to be fertilized, but mulching with organic matter will help keep the soil moist and cool. They also need to be frequently watered. Baby carrots should be planted 2-3 weeks before the last frost in the spring and will be harvested when they reach the desired size.
