Berries - Mulberry - Cultivation
Mulberries grow on deciduous trees of varying sizes and prefer full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Mulberry trees have shallow and prolific root systems and need to have adequate space to be able to spread. They also have somewhat brittle roots and need to be watered weekly, especially in dry seasons to avoid premature fruit dropping. If grown from seed, Mulberry trees can take ten years or more to bear fruit. Mulberries are available in the late spring through the summer.
