Cabbage - Bok - Cultivation
Bok Choy is a non-heading cabbage that grows in cool weather climates. It can grow in full sun, but does best with partial shade and needs rich, loose, and well-drained soil with fertile organic matter mixed in for nutrients. Bok Choy should be watered every few days to keep the soil moist. It is not usually threatened by disease, but pests such as beetles and worms may be an issue. Pests can be kept at bay by placing row covers over the plants. Bok Choy grows from seed and can be planted and harvested twice a year, once in the early spring and again in the fall. It takes approximately 45-50 days for Bok Choy to mature and the plants should be harvested when they are 30-45 centimeters tall.
