Sylvetta flowers are the delicate blooms of the arugula plant. There are several blooms connected to a thin, green steam that grow to 15-20 centimeters in length. The small yellow flowers are made up of four petals with several stamens at its center. Sylvetta flowers offer a peppery flavor and spice with nutty undertones.
Sylvetta flowers are available in late spring and summer.
Sylvetta flower is botanically classified as Diplotaxis, and also known as wall rocket or wild rocket. Just like common arugula both the leaves and blossoms exhibit the mustard family’s characteristic peppery bite. The blossoms are often used in fresh salads to add color and a mild pepper flavor.
