The emerald green leaves are deeply lobed and have serrated or toothed edges with the ends slightly curled. The leaves, when attached to the long stems, are often described as miniature sized fronds. Micro Tangerine Lace™ is available year-round.
Current Facts
Micro Tangerine Lace™ is a tiny, edible trademarked green that is a part of a line of specialty greens grown by Fresh Origins Farm, the leading national producer of both common and unique microgreens, located in San Diego, California. Harvested approximately 14-25 days after sowing, Micro Tangerine Lace™ is used by chefs as a garnish to add an unusual lacy texture, vibrant color, and a bright citrus flavor into both savory and sweet dishes.
Nutritional Value
Micro Tangerine Lace™ contains some vitamin C and minerals that contribute to overall daily health.
Applications
Micro Tangerine Lace™ greens are best suited for raw applications as their delicate nature cannot withstand high heat preparations. They are most commonly used as a garnish that can be sprinkled over seafood, poultry, and salads. They can also be served in cocktails, blended into herb oils, or used as a substitute for mint and placed as a bright, citrus note in desserts such as ice cream, sorbets, cookies, and cakes. Micro Tangerine Lace™ pairs well with seafood such as shrimp, crab, lobster, scallops, red snapper, halibut, sturgeon, tuna, salmon, and oysters, escargot, lamb, radish, apples, strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, and escarole. They will keep 5-7 days when stored unwashed, in a sealed container, and in the refrigerator.
