Bianca de Maggio onions have petite, saucer shaped bulbs that vary from 2- 8 centimeters in diameter. The bulbs have a papery white skin with translucent white flesh. From the bulb grows a tall green stem between 5 to 8 centimeters in height. In their raw state, Bianca de Maggio onions are firm and semi-sweet with a pungent flavor and mild aroma. Once cooked, they sweeten and soften dramatically.
