Description/Taste
Milk has been consumed for thousands of years by humans and is one of the most popular animal milks that are consumed around the world. Lowfat milk generally comes in two forms: 2% and 1%. These percent labels refer to the amount of fat per weight that the milk has and in the United States most milks are always pasteurized. Pasteurization occurs when the milk product is heated then quickly cooled which kills microorganisms that cause disease as well as giving the milk a longer shelf life. Milk is often used as a beverage and in many baking recipes.
