Closely related to the Golden Delicious apple, the Gala apple was first cultivated in New Zealand. The Gala apple has a red outer skin with peaking tones of yellow and green. This apple is medium in size and has a firm as well as crisp texture. Gala apples offer a mildly sweet flavor and a flower-like aroma.
