Proving looks can be deceiving, Uniq fruit is wrapped in a very unbecoming, distorted, rough, thick, loose easy-to-peel skin. However, inside is a surprisingly luscious juicy, sweet, low-acid, often seedless flesh that will most definitely please fruit lovers. In fact, its very uniqueness gave this fruit its name. Larger than a grapefruit, it also has a very unique shape.
Seasons/Availability
The season for Uniq fruit is December through April. Uniq fruit is available from Jamaica on a limited basis usually winter through spring and is best adapted to tropical climates. Some are available from Florida in the early summer.
Current Facts
Some marketers call this strange-looking edible wrinkled specimen "Uniq fruit" but it is better known as its trademarked name, Ugli™ fruit.

Applications
