Description/Taste
Red zebra are loved for their color and pattern but they appear in other colors, including red. Yellowish green with a red blush, red zebras are appropriately named for their striped appearance. This tomato variety is firm and round, about the size of a golf ball, and has a strong tomato flavor. It is incredibly acidic and doesn't require salting.

Red zebra tomatoes make sporadic appearances in the marketplace throughout the year.
Applications
A lovely tomato for dressing up mixed green salads. Use as an edible garnish for open face sandwiches. Tuck in pita bread sandwiches. Slices make a healthy easy side dish. Pair with fresh sweet basil, olive oil and grated Parmesan. This little tomato has an excellent shelf life. Stuff zebra tomatoes with burrata and spinach and basil pesto.

Growing on vigorous plants, zebra tomatoes are ready to enjoy in about 78 days. An unusual heirloom variety, red zebra tomatoes are grown in the United States and Mexico.
