Green Reef lettuce is made up of bright green, highly serrated green leaves with a narrow attachment to the stem. The texture is consistently crispy and succulent and the flavor mild with a slightly sweet flavor. A single cut around the short stem of the Green Reef lettuce head and all leaves will fall perfectly away for instant use.

Lettuce is categorized into six different types, also known as subspecies or botanical varieties. The six types of lettuce are crisphead (iceberg and Batavian), Romaine, butter, Latin, leaf, and stem. All lettuce types except for iceberg occur in red and green leaf form.
