Description/Taste
J.G. Berries is a sustainable farm located 80 miles north of Santa Barbara. Originally known as Pudwill Berry Farms, the farm was sold in 2021 to new owners committed to maintaining the quality, production, and diversity that led Pudwill to be a well-known name throughout California farmer's markets. The land was once a turkey ranch, home to millions of turkeys over decades, creating incredibly rich and fertile soil. Blueberries are small and round, with a deep dusty blue hue. The soft, hazy white coating that may appear on the skin of the berries is known as bloom and is a natural waterproofing film that helps protect the delicate skin of the berries from the sun and other elements. J.G. Berries have a sweet and woodsy flavor with low acidity. Their texture is soft and succulent, with a juicy pulp that pops in the mouth.
