Description/Taste
Dried mango slices undergo a dehydration process in which the moisture of the fruit is removed. They have a chewy texture and a flavorful sweet taste enhanced by the drying process. They maintain their orange hue however, becomes a darker orange after drying.

Geography/History
The mango is related to the cashew and pistachio which belong to the Anachardiaceae family. Mangoes have been around for thousands of years and have been cultivated along the India subcontinent for centuries. It is the national fruit of India, Pakistan and the Philippines. It can be found growing in any frost-free tropical region and was successfully introduced to the state of Florida in 1861.
