Description/Taste
Young ginger root is fresh ginger that has not gone through the curing process. It is a bright white in color with pink blushes at the top of plump rhizome and at the base of the vibrant green stalks. The fibrous green stalk and elongated leaves can be used to infuse curries, sauces and steeped to make tea. The young root rhizome is mild in ginger spiciness but robust in flavor.
Seasons/Availability
Ginger root with greens are available in the late summer months through the fall.
