Description/Taste
The Calcot spring onion is grown using a specialized technique, in which the first season of spring onion is replanted and then covered over with dirt. This process allows the onion to develop longer and thicker green stems as well as larger onion bulbs. The flavor of the Calcot onion offers a more mild Green onion flavor and is traditionally served grilled in Cataluna where it originated.
