Description/Taste
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Zeylanicum/C.Verum) is native to Sri Lanka and one of the oldest spices in the world. Cinnamon comes from a small, Laurel like Evergreen Tree. The spice is actually the bark of the tree that is peeled. Once peeled, the outer bark is removed leaving the inner bark to be rolled into a stick. It can be found as dark brown sticks or in powder form and has a sweet warm flavor.

Can be used in both sweet and unsweetened foods. Used to flavor baked goods and drinks.
Geography/History
Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of Cinnamomum trees. These trees are native to South East Asia and its origin was in Europe until the sixteenth century. It is harvested during the rainy season, then dried into curls, sold as sticks or ground into powder.
