Description/Taste
The Melogold grapefruit may also be known as the Honey Gold grapefruit. It is a cross between a Siamese Sweet Pommelo and a Duncan White Grapefruit. It can grow over six inches in diameter and weigh up to several pounds. It offers a sweet juicy pummelo-like flavor and has few to no seeds. Easy to peel, its rind is thicker than that of a typical grapefruit. The flesh itself is encased in a membrane that has a bitter flavor and should be removed before eating. The flavor of the Melogold tends to be more of the Pommelo than the Duncan.
