Description/Taste
Raw natural and whole Almonds are full of flavor with a crunchy texture. The hull of the fruit opens once it is fully ripe. Inside is the raw whole Almond which has a conical flat shape.

Applications
Whole raw Almonds are great to candy with sugar and cinnamon and to make Almond brittle. Whole Almonds pair well with meat such as chicken and can be used in rice pilaf and tuna salad.

The Almond tree is a species that is native to South Asia and the Middle East. The tree shares the name Almond, with the tree's cultivated seed. The Almond is considered a drupe not a nut, because it has a hard outer layer with a hard shell where the seed or nut is found inside. The word "Almond" comes from the French word almande or alemande. The Almond has been around for thousands of years and has been spread throughout the Mediterranean, northern Africa and Europe during ancient times.
