Description/Taste
Red bunched carrots as its name suggest have a bright red exterior, growing between 15-30 centimeters in length. Depending on the variety, the interior may be bright red, red-orange or orange, similar to that of the more common orange carrot. Its flesh is crisp and juicy. Red carrots are sweeter compared to orange carrots with earthy undertones and hints of celery.

Red carrots, botanical name Daucus Carota subs. sativus. Red baby bunch carrots are high in beta carotene. They contain lycopene, a pigment also found in tomatoes and watermelon. Studies show that lycopene helps prevent heart disease and some cancers including prostate cancer. Purple carrots contain anthocyanins, pigments that act as powerful antioxidants and also help prevent heart disease by slowing blood clotting.
