Description/Taste
Tequila Sunrise chile pepper is similar to the size and shape of a baby carrot. They are approximately 15 centimeters in length and somewhat fleshy with a crunchy texture and minimal seeds. They are usually sweet, but can occasionally develop a sharpness that is still far from spicy (0 Scoville units). They are excellent raw in salads or salsas, and may be grilled, fried, dried or pickled.

Tequila Sunrise chile peppers are available in the summer and fall.
Current Facts
The Tequila Sunrise is a variety of Capsicum annuum that is considered a chile pepper but actually quite sweet and mild. It should not be confused with the Tequila pepper which is actually a purple-hued bell pepper.
Nutritional Value
Providing an excellent source of vitamin A, vitamin C and the B vitamins, chiles contain significant amounts of iron, niacin, thiamine, magnesium and riboflavin. Chiles are cholesterol-free, saturated fat-free, low in calories, low in sodium and high in fiber.
