Waltham butternut squash has a smooth, yellow to tan hard exterior with the signature elongated cylindrical neck and squat round end. They are medium to large in size and weigh 1-3 pounds. The flesh is golden orange with a central seed cavity that contain a few cream colored seeds. Waltham butternut squash is smooth and creamy when cooked and a sweet, nutty flavor.
