Description/Taste
Mexican squash has a pale green skin that is thin and tender. Its inner flesh is nearly seedless and whiter and sweeter than green zucchini. They vary in shape and size from squat and round, to more oblong like that of zucchini.

Mexican squash is available year-round, with peak season in spring through fall.

Mexican squash, sometimes called tatume squash, is a variety of Cucurbita pepo and a member of the Cucurbitaceae family. It is grown prevalently throughout Texas and Mexico, but somewhat scarce elsewhere.
