Geography/History
A shrubby perennial and growing wild in central Mexico for centuries, Mexican sage is a member of the species Salvia mexicana. It especially loves life in the northern arid subtropical areas and the compatible conditions in the tropics of the southern region. Cultivated Mexican Sage can grow to a height of three to nine feet and spread out to three to four feet in width. This attractive flower is a favorite nectar source of the hummingbird.
