Description/Taste
The Red Delicious apple was first discovered in 1874, where it was found growing on a farm in Peru, Iowa. This apple variety is an American classic and can be easily recognized by its heart shape and bright red outer skin. The inner flesh of the Red Delicious has a creamy color with a slight grainy texture. This apple offers a sweet flavor with mild tart notes.
