Chive blossoms are the spherical light violet blossoms that sit atop the blade-like stems of the chive plant. The stems grow in clusters and are long, flat, slender and dark green in color. When mature chives can grow to 50 centimeters in height. The blossoms consist of tiny, star-shaped flowers and measure 5 centimeters in diameter. The blossoms have a light garlic scent with a mild floral undertone. Chive blossoms have a grassy, earthy flavor with a distinct garlic taste.
