Petite® Hearts On Fire™ are small in size, averaging 10-12 centimeters in length, and have oblong to obovate shaped leaves attached to skinny and flexible stems. The bright green leaves are smooth, with prominent dark red and purple veins branching oss the surface, blending into deep red, slender stems. Petite® Hearts On Fire™ are crisp and tender with a fresh, green flavor similar to spinach and chard with a tart, citrus-like tang.

Designed to be slightly larger than microgreens, Petite® Hearts On Fire™ are harvested6 weeks after sowing. Petite® Hearts On Fire™ are commonly used by chefs as a garnish to accent dishes with its tangy lemon flavor, vibrant color contrast, and tender texture.
Petite® Hearts On Fire™ contains some iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and vitamin C.
Petite® Hearts On Fire™ greens are best suited for raw applications as they can handle the mild heat, but their overall tender and delicate nature cannot withstand prolonged periods of high heat. They are most commonly used as a garnish to enhance flavor, and visual appeal of a dish and are used in fresh green salads, in a bed of greens under scallops, in soups, sandwiches, fruit salads, fruit plates, omelets, and on top of main dishes and appetizers. They can also be used in desserts such as ice cr, gelato, and sorbet, pastries, cocktails, or scattered in punch bowls. Petite® Hearts On Fire™ pairs well with seafood such as scallops, shrimp, salmon, halibut, lobster, and clams, chicken, pork, veal, eggs, potatoes, heirloom tomatoes, watermelon, peaches, strawberries, and vanilla. They will keep 7-10 days when stored unwashed, in a sealed container, and in the refrigerator.
