Description/Taste
Pea tendrils, or Pea vines as they are sometimes called, are the thread, leaflet and blossom of the snow pea, snap pea or sweet pea plant. Their flavor is grassy sweet and nearly identical to the flavor of pea pods.
Seasons/Availability
Pea Tendrils are available fall through early spring.
Current Facts
Pea tendrils contain a specialized spiraling stem, leaf or petiole with a thin threadlike shape which is used by climbing plants for support and attachment. There are only a certain lineage of legumes that form evolved vines: peas, sweet peas and fava beans.
